Conformal transplantation of lightness to varying resolution sensors

چکیده
Many standard computer vision algorithms depend upon the solution of Poisson equations, retinex lightness computation being one such algorithm. Using lightness as an example, we show how it can be computed on a varying resolution sensor so long as the sensor architecture is based on a conformal mapping. We develop the varying resolution lightness algorithm by the well known technique of using a conformal transplant. In the nal analysis, very little of the algorithm needs to be changed, but a speed up in running time of roughly 50 times is obtained even though the total data is reduced by only a factor of 28.

متن کاملThe Effects of Excitation Signal on the Resolution of the Liquid Crystal Capacitive Chemical and Biological Sensors
In this paper excitation characteristics of the Liquid Crystal (LC) capacitive chemical and biological sensor are examined and the optimum frequency and voltage range for the sensor interface are introduced. Interdigitated capacitor has been used for the sensor capacitance measurement and two different molecular orientations, homeotropic and homogenous, have been considered. The LC sensor capac...

The use of different optical-fiber sensors for weighing measurements is Abstract described. By using three different mechanical stressing mechanisms, the operation of the fiber-to-fiber transducer systems are tested and the results are presented. Parameters such as sensitivity, hysteresis, resolution, and dynamic range are measured. A comparison of the results has shown that the sensor system m...
متن کاملA novel Local feature descriptor using the Mercator projection for 3D object recognition
Point cloud processing is a rapidly growing research area of computer vision. Introducing of cheap range sensors has made a great interest in the point cloud processing and 3D object recognition. 3D object recognition methods can be divided into two categories: global and local feature-based methods. Global features describe the entire model shape whereas local features encode the neighborhood ...
متن کاملVery High Resolution Parametric and Non- Parametric Sartomography Methods for Monitoring Urban Areas Structures
Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is the only way to evaluate deformation of the Earth’s surface from space on the order of centimeters and millimeters due to its coherent nature and short wavelengths. Hence, by this means the long term risk monitoring and security are performed as precisely as possible. Traditional SAR imaging delivers a projection of the 3-D object to the two dimensional (2-D) a...
